Saying goodbye is never easy. But it’s especially difficult when you’ve chosen it. Packing up and leaving the place that I’ve called home for my entire life- 33 years- it’s challenging. There are mixed emotions to say the least. And honestly, as I’m closing in on the end of our road trip, and the beginning of my ‘new life’ on …
Family Matters
Readers, I’ve missed you. I hope you’ve missed us. It’s been four whole days! But we’ve been busy as ever doing a whole lot of not a lot with family. But when you’re with family, it all feels very busy and very exhausting, right? In the best way, of course! You’ll find us today where you left us last time, Rockford, Illinois. …
The woes of moving
Most of you don’t realize this, but when Thomas left to take the uhaul across the country to our farm, he embarked on quite the adventure. He and his friend, also called Tom, ended up doing a three day trip in about 50 hours. It’s quite the story… check it out!
On the road again
We left my in law’s house right around 1pm yesterday to head into the wild blue yonder of our future. I couldn’t bare leaving before I went to small group one more time, so although my husband thought he was doing me a favor by waiting around so that I could attend, I think it ended up being a blessing …
Packing…
It’s been absolutely crazy around here as we condense 4300 square feet into what will be ONE Uhaul load across the country to Tennessee. It’s emotional, it’s exciting, it’s freeing, it’s stressful, it’s all the things. On the one hand, it’s been really wonderful to purge a lot of things that I don’t need to have in my life anymore. …
A weekend away
This past weekend, we all ventured out of town- despite all the packing and organizing that needs to be done at the house before move day- to spend some quality time with family and friends. The little time we have left here- we’re giving our 30 day notice in our house today- seems to be slipping away quickly. In true …
We bought a farm!
So it’s official! Thomas flew out to Tennessee last week with his dad to sign papers on Shalom farm! With only ONE minor mishap (that almost made it impossible for us to close- thank you Wells Fargo for not knowing how to notarize a Power or Attorney properly), we were able to make it happen! Thomas did the final walk …
Transplants
About two years ago we put the first house we ever bought on the market. We have been so very blessed by God. Sometimes I don’t understand it. I often find myself just in awe of what He has done in my life… both before and since I’ve known Him. But alas, Thomas and I were ever so very blessed …
More from Raising Cunninghams…
I am SO enjoying this whole vlogging thing! It’s a whole brand new way to create that I didn’t even ever know I had a passion for. And turns out, it comes rather naturally to me. My husband took three days of put together about 20 seconds of a vlog, and in the past maybe 5 days, I’ve put out …
Vlogging…
So… the Cunningham family (that’s us) have decided to start a Vlog- that’s a video blog, if you’re like me and did not know- because we live a very unconventional life, and we really want to share what that looks like, while encouraging others to design the life they want as well. Topics of discussion will include faith, family, parenting, …
