A weekend away

This past weekend, we all ventured out of town- despite all the packing and organizing that needs to be done at the house before move day- to spend some quality time with family and friends. The little time we have left here- we’re giving our 30 day notice in our house today- seems to be slipping away quickly. In true Wendy fashion, I’ve packed as much as I possibly can in these last 40 days or so. It’s hard to stay present and enjoy the house, the kids, the beauty that is this valley, when there feels like there is still so much that needs to be done, but we’re doing our best.

We headed down to Woodland for a meeting and gave my mom some time with the kids. Thomas and I headed out to Livermore on Friday night to have dinner and spend some time with our dear friends and business partners, the Templemans and the Costellos. We had a blast. Well, I had a blast. Thomas was sick and grumpy and fell asleep on the couch. We spent the night at the Templeman’s house before heading our Saturday morning to spend some time and explore the city with Thomas’ two sisters, Anna and Clare.

Saturday was spent traversing San Francisco in an Uber. We saw the sights, ate a lot of great food, and walked a bunch. It was a perfect last trip to the city. I haven’t spent a WHOLE lot of time in San Fran, which seems strange to me now, considering I’ve always lived so close. But it was great to get to see the city through the eyes of the people who live there.

Sunday we were up early and on our way back home. We picked up the kids in Woodland and headed back to Nevada to meet my sister and her husband, as they were planning to spend a little time with us and have their own chance at quality time with the kiddos. We hiked, we chatted, the guys golfed, the weather was perfect. It was a wonderful weekend.

And now it’s back to packing and getting organized. Time is short. It’s going by too fast. I hope you enjoy our latest episode!
