Guest spot

I don’t know if you guys know… but I blog.

Yes, it’s true. And I don’t know if you guys know, but I am helping to found one of the coolest non-profits that you’re ever going to know about if you’re a woman. No offense to the dudes- you know I love you- but this non-profit is called Impact Women so it’s pretty gender specific.

This amazing movement started back in 2015 by way of a simple day long women’s conference held at my church. I attended as a seven month pregnant business owner, who went with the soul purpose of networking and meeting new women. That, and hearing my favorite pastor speak.

Y’all, my life changed that day.

You don’t know what you don’t know, right? I learned that day that I was destined to be an Impact Woman. Not in the ways that I had originally thought, but most certainly in the ways that I wanted to be. As a matter of fact, I felt God call me right there in that very audience and command me to start this very blog that you’re reading right now. And given the fact that I had always wanted to be a writer, you would think that it might have occurred to me that I could use the very gifts God had given me to bring glory to him and impact the masses- well it had not occurred to me.

So after that conference, I started a blog. This blog. One of the pastors at that church, a woman who I so desperately wanted to know and be friends with- Sunny Cain- ran the conference and spoke life over me that day. I am still grateful to her for that, and you should be too because you love reading all my rants!

My first blog here was about that day. It’s called You are making an Impact.

Two years later, I wrote a blog… here… about fear. It was about spiders really, but I’ve never read a blog about spiders that wasn’t a blog about fear. Sunny Cain read that blog because Facebook is amazing. Sunny Cain called me and said she wanted me to come and be a speaker at the 2017 Impact Women’s conference and she wanted me to speak on fear.

This is one of the most special moments of my professional life- both the being asked alone, as well as speaking at the event (because of course I said yes)! I just thought it was the coolest thing ever that the only reason Sunny asked me to speak was because she read a blog that I never would have written if it weren’t for the fact that SHE is an IMPACT WOMAN who inspires people to step into action and purpose. What a crazy God we follow, right?

I was invited into the teaching staff after the conference in 2017 and held monthly ‘huddles’ throughout 2018, where I had the amazing pleasure of leading a group of women from around the country in reflection, introspection, as well as purpose and action. We had a blast and when conference came in 2018, it was my privilege to help kick off the day as my second year on the team!

Today, although many of us have moved elsewhere (myself to Tennessee for example), and we’ve broken off from the church where we all were originally connected and became friends, we have never been more united and we have ridiculously huge vision for this movement. And that’s what it is, you guys. It’s a movement. We’re empowering women to step into their purpose. We’re encouraging action. We’re walking along beside anyone who wants to come!

Sidebar: If you want to come along… PLEASE COME ALONG! Find us on Facebook at ‘Impact Women Huddle’ and join the conversation!

What I’m getting at with all of this is…

  1. Watch out, because this is not the last you’ve heard of Impact Women.
  2. I’m guest blogging for them once or twice a month and want to make sure you catch all the action! There are some seriously gifted women on the team, with amazing perspective to share and incite to offer. I hope you come along for the ride.

Come on over to our beautiful website and read the spider blog that started it all right here!
